These are some cats we have helped:

Please be patient while pictures load

ASIA & ALFIE

Hello there, here is a picture of two of Astra's lovely kittens that we adopted in November 2011. Messi (Alfie) is a real character and is happiest when been cuddled and sitting on our laps. Simba (Asia) is definitely the hunter and is desperate to be allowed outside to keep the mouse population under control. They have settled in so well - we can't imagine life without them now. Best wishes

TILLY

This is Tilly, she was adopted in November 2010 and was in a very bad state. Before she came to Cats Protection she had two sets of kittens, but unfortunately she lost one of her litters and we are not what happened to the other set. At that time she was very malnourished and had lost a lot of her hair due to lice and/or depression from losing her litter. From adopting her she has made consistent improvements and she is now 100%. All her hair has grown back which took a few months as a lot of it was gone especially round her legs and tummy, she is eating fine and is extremely loud when she knows dinner is coming! Tilly enjoys sleeping on our laps and also has a favourite bed, which is the one she is on in the pictuire. - which she absolutely loves! She loves attention and being scratched behind the ear or on the back of her neck and purrs She is only 3 and has plenty of energy and flies around the house like a lunatic, chasing toys around like the one in the picture 'Mr Dog', Tilly also loves to play with pieces of string and although she is a house cat, she still preys on anything who has the misfortune to walk into her path including spiders and woodlouse, which she leaves for us to find all around the house. Very soon we are hoping to adopt another cat which will hopefully keep her occupied when we are not around and has given us the excuse to buy more toys! Thank you very much for such a beautiful cat who has been a complete delight even through her troubles and is now considered a very important member of the family.

MILLIE AND SIMBA

We just wanted to let you know how absolutely delighted we are with our two pussycats which came from you in September last year. Simba is amazing. He just wants to play ball all day. he "talks" to us frequently and loves being picked up. A friend of ours came and said he was a pure bred Maine Coon as she had one just like him for 12 years? I must say he does look like the ones on the website. Millie is wonderfully playful as well especially when I am is knitting.

SOPHIE'S KITTENS

I just wanted to send you an update. I have attached a photo of Spot (F.K.A. Smuts/ On the left) and Splodge(On the right), Sophie's Kittens. Both are very happy and love being with people. Splodge treats life as one big adventure purring as he goes and making sure he gets as much attention as possible from everyone he meets, including sitting himself beside the dining table at every meal time trying to look as cute as possible in the hope he gets the chance to steal something. He's always the first one to investigate anything new. He can be a bit of a trouble maker stealing any hair bobbles that are left lying around and leading raids on the cat food cupboard not to mention hiding in any bags which are left lying around. He usually sleeps on the sofa curled around the teddy bear in the photo if he can't find someone to curl up with. Despite being very shy to start with Spot has become a very affectionate little cat spending hours draped over or riding on people's shoulders. he usually waits and watches for his brother to cause trouble before taking his chance to join in. His loves playing with leaves which he brings in from the garden and growls protectively over if his brother tries to join in, he's also fascinated by running water and will come and sit and watch whenever you are running a tap or watering the plants. He likes curling up in little spaces to sleep including cupboards, partly pack suitcases and even on one occasion in the wicker bin in someone's bedroom, unless of course he can come and curl up on someone's lap.

HENRY & HONEY

>

Hi, just a few notes to let you know how Honey & Henry are getting along, we collected them on Sunday 19th June, so they've been with us for a little over 4 weeks now, they have settled in very well and are very playful as you would expect of 10 month old kittens/cats, they can both be very naughty too, Henry has run of with both spectacles and £20 notes that were left on the coffee table, they are very affectionate towards one another and also to us, they will follow us all over the house, Henry loves to curl up with someone on the settee while Honey just loves to sit on or curl up on window sills, both love to be tickled and will purr away. Thankyou for a lovely pair of cats.

MIKE AND CLIVE

I just wanted to update you on Mike and Clive, two amazing cats I homed back in Feb 2011. Everyone in the house has got used to each other now, my boyfriend wasn't expecting two new additions to the family when he came home from work that day!. Mike (who we often affectionately call 'cow cat' or 'the slug' due to his markings and ever growing belly!) seems to have asserted his power over one of our chairs and one of the cat hammocks and sleeps on one of them all the time. If Clive even attempts to get on either of these he is booted off by Mike quick sharp. Its pure comedy to watch them play together, especially when Clive (who we now tend to call 'Ginger') gets on the chair and watches Mike stalk round the room knowing full well he's starting a fight! Ginger is a cheeky little devil and lovely angel rolled into one cat, he can be so naughty, and talks back to us all the time. One of his favourite pass times is to sharpen his nails on the stairs, when told not to by a squirt of water, he runs off meowing his head off. We do laugh at him, but he knows he's not supposed to do that! He is also very cuddly though, and loves his evening naps on my knee, he sometimes stays there for hours. Mike meows and comes running to you when you call his name, then lays down on the ground and rolls over like a dog to get you to tickle his big belly, he's brilliant. All in all I love my new cat family, and we are all going to grow old together. Thank you Cats Protection for looking after them before they came to their new home. I look forward to finding their photo on your 'Cats we have helped' section, I often look to see if you've posted some photos I sent a while ago, so I wait in anticipation!

TOFFEE

We homed Toffee in August last year, and she has settled in nicely. She has some problems with oily skin, but takes a supplement from the vets, and enjoys daily brushing. Toffee stays indoors, as we live near a busy road, and she has never tried to escape! She has some definite likes and dislikes: Likes: Watching the birds, sitting on laps, helping with knitting Dislikes: Scratching posts, car travel, getting wet, modelling for photos! Thank you for your help in finding Toffee for us

WILLOW

Just thought that you would like to see the most recent picture of Willow. She is even more beautiful than the day we adopted her and she continues to bring us joy and happiness into our lives, she is cute beyond belief and shares her love willingly, people always comment on how amazing her yellow and orange eyes are that only a cat lover can fully appreciate.

DOMINO & DIGBY

Myself and my Partner homed Domino & Digby in February this year. I am emailing to you let you know how we are getting on. I have attached a picture. When we got them home the second Digby came out of the box he started to purr, and it seems at times that he has never stopped! Digby has truly settled and it's like he has always been with us, and boy does he like his cuddles! He loves playing and attacks/jumps on his brother at any opportunity.
Domino as expected has taken rather longer to settle. He refused to come out of his box for 2 hours, until of course he was hungry then he spent the rest of the evening under the table. But slowly he's come round. We have now got to the point where domino will let you stroke him and will purr where until last week we were not sure that he ever would unless your feeding him. They are spoilt kitties! As you can see they have possibly one of the biggest climbing frames possible and they love it, it's the best thing we have got them and has signalled a change in Domino, within days he became more relaxed and has as above started to purr when handled. All in all they are settling in well with no major troubles, in fact it's been lovely.

QUINCY

I just want to say thankyou to the Starbeck Cats Protection for Quincy. He moved in with me on New Years Eve 2010 and we have become great friends. He is just a lovely cat - very affectionate and loves to be at home. He has his faults - he sounds like an elephant walking across the carpets and his favourite place is on my knee, somewhere he thinks he should be at his every whim!! He's settled in really well. He is a star amongst the neighbours (the human kind!) and has even become used to my grandchildren popping in to play with him. He is extremely tolerant of them as the photo of him tucked up on the sofa with a teddy bear shows!! He has mad half hours when he races around the house as though his life depended on it grabbing at non existent items and he always comes to greet me on my return home whether he is in or out. Not having had a cat for about 20years I did wonder how we'd get on but I can honestly say he is a pleasure to have around. Thankyou Cats Protection.

HENRY

Thank you for allowing us to give Henry a home. He has settled in very well and has become a valued member of our family. His cheeky carefree attitude has really helped the other 2 cats accept him quickly and easily. He's been with us 2 weeks now and has his paws very firmly under the duvet!!!!

JERRY

Hello there, At the end of September we adopted Bertie (formerly Jerry) from you. He is the sweetest little chap, and settled into home life with us so quickly it was almost as if he had always been with us. He was quite quiet and subdued at first, just wanting to sit up close to us all of the time. Probably a result of the fact that the poor little lad had been abandoned as a youngster. He has relaxed much more in recent weeks and loves to play with his feather on a string – especially when it ‘hides’ under the rug! He also has spells where he races up and down the stairs and across the living room before collapsing in a purring heap either on our laps or tucked up so close to us we can hardly move. He is a worthy successor to the lovely Monty, who we homed from you last year (and who is still featured on the ‘cats we have homed’ page), but who so sadly died earlier this year. However, Bertie has such a loving and gentle character, and even after this short time we could not now imagine being without him. Best wishes, Judy and Dave

LILY

We rehomed Lily in September when she was 9 weeks old. She was very nervous at first but has quickly settled in to her new home. She is now quite a lively character, running around the house madly. She doesnt really play with the toys we bought her but goes mad for a piece of scrunched up paper!! Shes still so small that she can get under the cupboards where she isnt supposed to go and gets herself lost! She is adorable and we love having her around. Typically, she doesnt sleep in the bed we bought her but on the dining room chair. Lily is still quite timid of other people coming into the house and usually hides under a bed but i'm sure she will get used to people soon. Thankyou for letting us adopt this wonderful kitten, Liz, Rebecca, Ellie (& Lily)

ROSIE & PIPPIN

We took Rosie and Pippin (renamed, previously Aster and Burdock !) into our care in August of this year. They settled in really quickly and are very friendly cats. The children absolutely love them and they are getting on really well together. They were neutered last month and are now getting to grips with exploring the garden and bringing in leaves to play with. They don't often stay still long enough to get a good photo but I found them both asleep in my sons bed today so attach a picture. They are growing up quickly, Pippin in particular. Just thought we'd let you know they are both doing well and have fit into the family very nicely. Kind regards James

Topaz now Daisy

We rehomed a kitten called Topaz, we have called her Daisy. She is gorgeous and settling in well. It is great having a new addition to the family. She is quite the character, I am sure she was a dog in her former life. She loves nothing more than a bit of crunched up foil to chase on the floor and if you throw it she will fetch it and wait for you to throw it again. She also goes through the laundry and collect socks and deposits them throughout the house, so now we know why we can't find the other sock. She has settled in very well and is still a bit wild. I am sure once she gets neutered in a the next few weeks she will calm down a bit.

WILLOW

Hi, Just to let you know that Kizzy has settled in really well. She is getting to know everyone in the house but steers clear of the hamster when he’s out in his exercise ball – I don’t think she can quite work it out! She is a little live wire who loves to play and literally sprints her way through all the downstairs rooms which open onto each other. Visitors have been very taken with her. Kizzy has adopted one of the cosy baskets our last cat slept in which is on the bottom of the wooden trolley in a corner and next to the kitchen radiator, she sleeps well on a night. The sheep shaped sofa cushion has been taken over as a daytime snooze point. She kneads the sheep before settling down to sleep with ears pricked. Last night her nocturnal bug hunt netted three daddy longlegs! She also eats well does have some bouts of wind! I’ve attached some photos taken in the first week. Thank you for finding a perfect successor to Topsy. Best wishes P***** family

WILLOW

This is our new best friend Willow (Formally Ena) who we have had for just over a month. She's brought us so much joy and happiness (Joyful chaos) already. Our last cat Heinney was nearly twenty when he sadly past away two years ago. To say that we were heartbroken was an understatement and when you love animals it is hard to live without them. This picture shows Willow on her first adventure in our garden, looking a little worried I must say at how big the world is outside our house, but safe in the knowledge she will always be loved and cared for.

GINGY

Gingy was not with us long before he was snapped up by Steve, Wendy, Bradley, Declan and Libby and is a much loved member of the family where he settled in, in no time (as can be seen by the picture). He's also made friends with four other cats on his street and divides his time between playing out with his new pals and getting lots of fuss and cuddles.

SPUD

It has now been 14 months since I adopted Spud from Ami and Dale and I thought you would be interested to hear how he is getting on. Well, you wouldn’t know that he’s the same cat! The first couple of days after he moved in, he was so shy, hiding from everyone and hardly eating. After a while though, he started to come out of his shell, eating well and following me around the house. Before long, he started to bring me ‘presents’ of mice and birds, some dead, some still alive! He has now got a collar with a bell which he was most indignant at having to wear, but it has vastly reduced the number of birds he brings back – he still manages to catch mice though (which, I must admit, I praise him for, as we’ve had problems with mice nesting in the eaves of the house, so he is certainly earning his keep!) Over a year on and he has blossomed, he is very affectionate (especially so when he wants feeding) and is much more sociable, with people and with other cats. I think he has formed a gang, as I often see him with the other neighbourhood cats sat on the drive quite happily together. He loves being outdoors, especially in the warmer weather and is very inquisitive, playing with anything that moves! He is a wonderful companion and a great friend – he waits for me to come home and is ready with a purr and a leg-rub. Please find attached a photo of my handsome tom cat, I am very proud of him. With kindest regards and thanks for allowing me to home such a lovely cat,

SIMBA AND DOOGLE

Simba and doogle are very happy in they're new home and we love them very much. . . And so does everybody else! My beautifull boys. Rosie and Adam x

PADDY

When I went to pick Paddy up from Margaret, his fosterer, he was living with his two bossy sisters and seemed like a bit of wimp. How wrong I was, he loves play fighting with my other cat and is always the one to instigate it but despite this they get along very well. He's also a right little pig and can often be caught stealing the dog's dinner. He is a very handsome boy and has a funny little gait which is very endearing. Thank you for letting me give him a home. Jacky

HOBBS

Hello this is Hobbs on one of his beds!!! His favourite is his own big furry bed next to the radiator. We just wanted to thank Janet for all her help and Hobbs would like to thank her as well for bringing him to his new home where he is adored. Hobbs is doing very well taking his medication and eating his special diet as he now has kidney failure but you wouldn't know that there is anything wrong with him as he is such a big healthy looking cheeky boy. Hobbs loves all the fuss and attention he gets so now likes being an only cat, he also likes to have a stroll outside as he has previously been a house cat, he loves the sun and will no doubt be out more when the good weather eventually arrives! Thanks once again Janet.

LOIS & BENTLEY

Hi there, I'm Lois and this is my black & white brother Bentley. We arrived at our new home back in October 2009 as two very nervous kittens. I was and still am the mischievious one, whereas Bentley was the more timid one who wasn't sure how to purr. It really does seem like a long time ago now as we soon settled in. I enjoy going out on big adventures, but know when it's hometime...Dad whistles for me! I love snuggling up and washing people and when I'm not doing that I'm usually found playing with a marble; I have a secret stash that Mum and Dad can't find! Bentley has turned into a right soft lad, his favourite place to sleep is right under Mum's chin and he has such a loud purr I'm suprised anyone can sleep! Anyway, best go and pounce on my brother, I can't have him sleeping ALL the time!

SPIKE & TIGGER

Now you've got over how gorgeous we are, we'll introduce ourselves, we're Spike and Tigger (formerly Zak and Zeke). We arrived at our new home with Wendy and her family a few months ago, and we've really settled in. We're actually naughty little monkeys but Wendy loves us all the same but says we're a bad influence on Charlie who already lived here when we moved in. He wasn't sure about us at first but now he loves to scamper round the house and up and down the stairs with us and we all think it's great fun. Well best be off, mischief to get up to and washing to play in!

LUCY

My name is Lucy and my lovely new Mum Brenda says 'Everybody Loves Lucy' which sounds good to me. As you can see from my photo, I even have my own sofa and I quite like to spend a lot of time on there, well when I'm not on my Mum's knee. She also says I remind her of a little owl - well I wont be a night owl that's for sure, I like my creature comforts too much. You should see my cute little waddle too!

CHLOE

Hi my name is Chloe, Just an update on my story, I was taken to my new home in Ripon in October 2008 Janet took me there to meet Roy (my new dad) I love living here with Roy he has helped me build up my confidence even though I am still nervous, he trained me to use my Cat Flap you should of seen him on his hands and knees both sides of the door but now I can go out when I like. My main name is Chloe but him in doors has nick names for me being Chlo Chlo, Missy, Madam but the one I love the best is Her Royal Highness. I was lucky to be featured in the Whispurrs mag in 2009 and I was Cat of the Edition. Well I will say thanks again to my friend Janet and a BIG THANKYOU to Roy for giving me a lovely cozy happy home to live in Love Chloe. Keep up the good work Cat Protection. Ps. Will let you into a little secret but I don't think my dad likes it when he wakes up on a morning and I am laid on his chest asleep. I am naughty, but nice.

MATTIE & RUPERT

Mattie was adopted from Cats Protection but her life was made even better when her new brother, Rupert, arrived some months later as a kitten. As you can see from the picture they are inseperable and completely devoted to each other. Rupert (tabby) is getting bigger by the week.

MICAH & LAYLA

Micah and Layla are actually brother and sister, but a few months apart. They have great fun together in their new life and like to have lots of cuddles.

LEO & MILLIE

This is Leo and Millie, mum and son, relaxing in their new home, where they have the run of the house, live the life of Riley and are absolutely adored. It's a hard life being a cat!

PHOEBE AS WAS

Dear all Just wanted to say thank you for finding me a new home. My pets the Griffiths have a lovely garden in which I love to sit and play. I am not too sure still of the younger pets as they are a bit noisy but if they keep giving me treats then I might let them stroke me. Living in Knaresbrough is different to my original lodgings, but I am very much cared for and pad and purr in the mornings for my breakfast. I have even got used to the five o-clock start the man pet has but he doesn't seem too keen if its his day off. As you can see from my picture I am at home in the garden and if it rains I go under the hedge while my pets get wet trying to call me in. Thank you for looking after me while I found a family especially to Amy and Dale they got me trusting humans again. I was adopted at the beginning of July 09 and have given much pleasure aready to my pets who love me dearly even though I use the carpet and not the scratch post and I show off by going scatty. I am also dubbed the elephant as I am so noisy going through the house. With many thanks Ferb Griffiths.

PANDORA

I know this is a long time after the event, but someone asked me where I got my cat the other day and it reminded me. In 1995 I got a year-old cat from you called Pandora. In the weeks that followed you were quite keen on doing follow ups to make sure she was OK. I moved out not long after and - woops - I didn't keep in touch. Obviously I must have some kind of residual guilt about this or I wouldn't be mailing you now, just to say, Pandora is still alive and well after all these years, she's been a fantastic cat, and we have a great relationship. So, thanks.

JESSICA & JEMIMA

Jessica and jemima have been with us for a year now; two adorable 11 yr old silver tabbies have just had their booster jabs and are enjoying a happy retirement in their new home.

IZZY

This is Isabella (now Izzy) she has settled now in her new home, and was great company for me when I was off work with an injured ankle. Her favourite toy is a yellow sponge ball which she likes to fetch back to you in her mouth!

WILLOW

Hello all cats and potential owners! Just a word from me, (ex Penny, now re-named Willow) (as in 'Pussy Willow' you see). Hope you like this gorgeous picture of me thoroughly happy in my new home. I had a hard time before Cats Protection found me, I am only one year old but was already having kittens when I was saved. It was hard work being a Mum, fancy losing your figure so young! I am now learning how to recapture my lost youth again, and am usually to be found chasing my tail underneath a picnic rug on a good day! When I get bored of that I spend many a happy hour chasing the mouse on the computer screen - my owner thinks I have got my wires a bit crossed about the sort of mouse I should be chasing! I have just ventured outside for the first time, bit scary but think I am going to enjoy that lovely big garden with a field to romp in, I might even learn what a real mouse is soon. At the end of a busy day I like nothing better than to curl up on the nearest bed and look delicious - it always does the trick and I am allowed to stay there all night - really these humans are a pushover if you know how to treat them. Hoping lots of other cats get as lucky as me, Yours purringly Willow x

ELSIE (was Pickle)

Living in Wetherby has clearly made her playful. Thanks to Annette and Amy for the new home and the photo.

LILY aka TIGGER

Here is a picture of Lily, who you will see has settled in really well to our household!! Despite the cute looks and the suggestion of sleeping like a babe all the time…not so!! She’s the boss! Best wishes & keep up the good work. Debbie & Simon

LOLA

Just an update to let you know how I am getting on in my new home! As you can see from the photo I love playing in the garden with my new friends Flash-also a Harrogate CP cat, and Daisy. We have great fun chasing each other around and jumping out on each other from under the bushes!!
Lola

BLUES

This is Blues. She has got a lovely home with a family in Harrogate and is settling in very well. She also has a new companion - a chocolate brown labrador. She was brought up with a dog and is quite happy to co-habit with her new companion. Whilst being cared for by fosterers, she had been rather nervous but is now becoming much more confident. This is another success story for our branch.

SPIC & SPAN

We promised to let you know how Reeves and Mortimer (aka Spic and Span) were getting on.
They are doing great, they were definitely the right choice for us, they are lovely cats, though not so little now, especially Mortimer (Span, with the smudge on his nose, the most timid of the two) who is a really solid boy who, whilst he can still be a bit jumpy, loves his cuddles, and will meow loudly at us for attention if he's not getting it. Reeves I think is going to be Mummy's boy, he's lovely and loves to be fussed. He drags himself along the floor as you stroke him so that you have to follow him along!
The only down side to them, possibly due to their beginning in life when they were allowed to run wild, is that they are very adept bird and frog killers. They now have collars with bells which seems to help but they still manage to catch them. At least they don't bring them into the house!
They are great friends with our two rabbits too. Sometimes we let the rabbits out in the garden, which is escape-proof, and the cats (under close supervision obviously) like to watch and run after them, but the rabbits come and chase them away. A few days ago when Stuart had cleaned out the hutch and left it to dry, he didn't think to check the hutch before putting the rabbits back in, put one rabbit in, turned to put the other in and saw Reeves fast asleep in the corner of the hutch!
Anyway, I just thought I would let you know how they're getting on - and they are great.
Kind regards.

BOOTS

This is Boots, now known as Zoe, who we homed last autumn. She was a very fussy eater while in our care and would touch little other than fried chicken. Her eating problems are now behind her. She is described as mischievous and much loved by her lady owner..

DOMINO

Domino is a young Black and White kitten who has been tested as FIV positive. He is absolutely gorgeous and needed to go to a loving home with someone who understands that he may become ill, and will therefore need more treatment at the vets than any other cat. He captured the heart of everyone who saw him.

Unfortunately he needed to be in an indoor location where he would not come into contact with other cats. A feature on Domino was put in the local paper with a photograph, and we asked if anyone would be willing to give him a home. We had a huge reponse and found a home where he is extremely happy, and has no desire to go outside.

KATIE

Pretty Katie, content in her new home

SOOTY and SWEEP

Sooty and Sweep were part of a large, badly malnourished family of cats that arrived at the branch in 2004. Not all of them pulled through, but these two are clearly doing fine!

TABATHA

Tabatha, who has clearly landed on her feet

PORTIA

A big thank you for finding us the most adorable torti female. Portia felt right at home as soon as we got her home. She has settled in very well, my husband would now be lost without her now so would I.
Portia is full of fun. Loving all the affection that we give her, loves been a lap cat. She as may other cats has her mad moment charging around the house like a cat possessed.
Many thanks for our beautiful cat.
Will send some pictures when we have some ready
Mr & Mrs S********.

Message received from Charlie 2nd Nov 04

Hello
My name is Charlie and I was born at Harrogate Cat Protection in August 2001. My home is in Ripon which I share with my adopted mother (Tiggy) and a newcomer (Blackie) who is a stray who has wandered into our life !
I am very happy and am so glad that I was born and given a chance in life. I am very loved and sometimes get stuck up trees and do daft things but must go now as it's time for a snooze again as it's past my bedtime !!
Love Charlie xx

JOE

Message and photo from Joe's new owner 22/10/04

Lois brought Joe on Mon. eve. He's gorgeous. He soon found his food, his litter tray, & that the bed in the back room is very comfy. Must be all the spare duvets under the bedspread. He's still a bit nervous but is rapidly getting over it & purrs a lot when he's cuddled & his ears are scratched & his tummy tickled.

POPPY

Dear Cats Protection
I am having a great time in my new home, and I am training my new keepers to look after me just how I want them too. They seem to be shaping up nicely.

Poppy

BASIL

This is Basil making the most of his wonderful new home.

SOOTY

Message and photo from Sooty's new owner 2/10/05

Sooty, now re-named Jess, has settled well alongside two resident toms in her new home. She has tested her owner's fire-fighting skills by twice getting stuck up large trees in the garden! She has also shown a worrying interest in paper money, especially £20 notes, which she picks up in her mouth from the bedside cabinet and stashes all over the house!

DOBBY (aka Peter)

Dobby is doing really well in his new home, he loves his cuddles and his sleep, he has grown into a fantastic family cat.

WOODY

Woody was re-homed in October 2009 having been found abandoned at the bottom of a garden with his sisters. He settled in to his new home straight away and enjoys sitting in the bath and, as you can see, relaxing on the sofa.

MONTY

Hello there, At the beginning of October 2009 we came to you and fell in love with the gorgeous Roddy (or officially Nimrod) and brought him home with us. He has subsequently been renamed Monty. Since the early days when he spent most of his time either pacing around the house or sleeping in the airing cupboard, he has settled in really well to his new home with Dave and I. We decided not to let him out of doors until after Bonfire Night, but since then he has really enjoyed going in and out to the back garden and neighbouring gardens, sniffing out the local territories and eyeing up the other local feline residents. Indeed, since the time he has been allowed out, he seems to have settled into a very much more relaxed routine, although there are times, especially currently with all the snow outside, when he hurtles up and down stairs, round and round the living room or in and out of his flap, just for the fun of it. This has brought him the appropriate nickname of Monty-zoomer! He is such a loving and gentle little cat, and likes nothing better than being stroked and cuddled, and then stroked and cuddled again. If you stop he will squeak and tap you on the arm or leg to tell you to keep going! His purr is so loud at these times that Dave has likened it to a V8 engine! Anyway we just want to thank you again for teaming us up with Monty, and hope he is as happy with us as we are with him – at the moment he certainly seems to be. I am attaching some recent pictures of him to let you see him in his new environment. All best wishes, J W.
